Go me!

I wonder if anyone will turn up?

What I Learned in School Today [Apr. 9th, 2008|12:29 pm]
dithering_idium
If nothing else, I learned today that one of the reasons that vultures evolved with "bald" featherless heads, was because they would become spattered with blood and fluids when they ate, and would be difficult to keep clean.

I don't know a whole lot about birds, but I seem to remember there is an important reason why they must keep their feathers clean ... likely something to do with aerodynamics.

Video Posts [Mar. 25th, 2008|11:20 am]

I'm intrigued by the idea of video-posting.

I signed up an account with Google Video (since I've already go gmail and I don't care much for YouTube) and I think I'll experiment with recording via webcam later this evening.

It'd certainly be kind of cool to post journal entries for friends to see ME! Woot.

Scientific Progress [Mar. 24th, 2008|04:27 pm]

I believe that there are 2 major scientific breakthroughs that are required for civilization/mankind to progress to the next "step." They are as follows:

1.) A method of giving hair to those that want it, and removing hair from those that don't.

2.) A method of giving babies to those that want them, and removing babies from those that don't.

Both of these must be 95-100% efficient, effective, available, and convenient. It needs to require less energy to grow or remove a full head of hair than walking to the 7-Eleven. Getting a new baby should be quicker and easier than getting a cancer-stick fix.

Screw conquering death or eradicating AIDS or cancer. These are the two things that will advance society.

Embryo created with 3 parents

"Even if a child were born with 'two mothers', I doubt very much that we should be concerned about its welfare any more than we are concerned about the welfare of all children."

Oh wow! the different meanings this can have without its context (context in original article = none).

The Number 23 [Jan. 23rd, 2008|08:12 am]

Well, today's the beginning of the end. And it totally has nothing to do with that stupid Jim Carey movie... whatever it was about.

Dundracon 32 [Jan. 5th, 2008|06:02 pm]
dithering_idium
Just 1 month before Dundracon 32, now.

I believe I've got just enough done with the new system that I should be able to cause some damage. Now there's just the small matter of converting all the old characters, which is something I've been neglecting to do while I've struggled with bringing the new system together.

Deity-based Flaws [Dec. 26th, 2007|01:24 pm]

How about a flaw "Embarrassment of the Gods," or, more specifically, "Embarrassment of Zeus."
Yes, you're one of those illegitimate children of Zeus.
